Revision / Complex Trauma

Whenever the fracture fails to unite revision surgery is required to be done to address the demands of the body and to enable the fracture to heal by improvement is biology, mechanics, alignment of bone leading to union at fracture site.

Complex trauma requires to approach the fracture in a different way then a traditional simple one limb fracture. It may require to put an external fixator temporaliy for allowing the soft tissue to heal followed by primary fixation with implants when the condition of soft tissue is feasible. Complex trauma may require multiple implants, bone graft (natural), bone substitutes to put in place to ensure that the fracture heals properly.
